Bergen fMRI Group

is an interdisciplinary research group at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital with interests in functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). The research is focused on brain activation studies related to a broad spectre of cognitive functions, including laterality, speech and language, working memory, attention and emotions. The group is also involved in research related to morphometry, perfusion/diffusion imaging, diffusion tensor imaging and neuroinformatics.

The fMRI Group collaborates with several clinical research groups particularly with regard to psychiatric disorders and different forms of language disorders (dyslexia, specific language impairment, aphasia).

Bergen fMRI Group has status as
National Resource Centre for functional MR, together with the MR-centre at St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim.

The group is also member of the
Nordic Center of Excellence on Cognitive Control
funded by the Nordic Council (NOS). The Center is coordinated from the University of Umeå, Sweden.
